Summer League 2014
Knucklehead Lacrosse Summer League is just that, a summer league. It is not an elite league. It’s not a travel program. It’s a league where a player of any ability can learn and become a better player.
Whether a player wants to play college lacrosse on some level one day or simply to be the best U-15 player he can, Knucklehead Lacrosse Summer League is his opportunity to grow and improve his game.
The better you are, the more fun the game is and we want you to enjoy the game of lacrosse. That’s why you play, right?
We believe that players who want to become better should be given the opportunity to improve. They should receive high quality instruction from a talented staff of experienced, even-handed coaches who value character and sportsmanship.
Then they should play. They should play and play and play.
Knucklehead Lacrosse Summer League is for lacrosse players who are serious about elevating their games and are willing to put forth a little more effort to make it happen. Knucklehead is for players who want to get better and have more fun with lacrosse.

Virginia Military Institute
A 1996 graduate of VMI, Tom was a four-year letterman for the Keydets and a defensive standout on a nationally ranked man-down unit. In 2001, Tom became the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Mt. Tabor High School in Winston-Salem in the team’s inaugural year and within three years had his team in the State Quarterfinals. In his fourth year, Tom coached the Spartans to their first State Championship appearance. From 2005-2006, Tom coached at Hershey High School in Pennsylvania, where he was the Offensive Coordinator and helped lead Hershey to its first-ever playoff appearance.
Tom returned to North Carolina and Mt. Tabor High School in 2008 to once again become Head Coach and has led the Spartans to the State Playoffs in each of the past three seasons.
Player & Family Commitment
Participation in Knucklehead Lacrosse Summer League requires enthusiasm, focus and 100% effort. It’s summer time and a little more laid back but when we play, we play. So, be ready. Go hard in the drills. Go hard in the games.
It will be more fun and you will improve faster.
We expect that if you want to improve your game, regardless of your ability, you will attend most practices and games in their entirety. There will be 45 minutes of instruction from two of the best coaches around and then the remaining time will be spent playing.
It will be fun.
Players are strongly encouraged to be on time and to receive the full two hours, twice a week, of expert lacrosse instruction. It will be fun the whole two hours. You will learn. And you will be better when we’re done.
We understand, of course, that summer means vacation and other interests. You cannot be there all the time. However, the more times you can get there, the better you will be. So, take your vacation and come on back.
Our goals for Knucklehead Summer League are for you to have fun, to learn and to become a better player. Then, lacrosse will be even more fun.
If you will put forth the effort, with a positive attitude, it will happen.
You will become a better player. But you have to want it first.
If you do, we can help you with the rest.
Enrollment at each age group is limited to ensure that Knucklehead Lacrosse maintains a high quality program where players committed to getting better can grow and improve their games.
